Default Wilson Audiophile

Another recommendation...

Bartók:
Romanian Folk Dances for piano, Sz. 56, BB 68
(arr. for violin and piano)
Brahms:
Violin Sonata No. 1 in G major, Op. 78
Debussy:
Violin Sonata in G minor
David Abel (violin), Julie Steinberg (piano)

A magnificent recording by David Wilson just released as an SACD by Analogue Productions. It's extremely natural and dynamic. The sonic image of the violin is to the right of the inside edge of the left speaker. Highly recommended on both counts: music and sound.

This disc features extraordinarily good Baroque music from Telemann. The performance is vivacious and the recording is top-shelf. One of the best additions to my music library this year.

Thanks so very much, I found it on Tidal also - great recording!

Default Paul Berner Band - The Bird Has Flown

The latest from Sound Liaison in the Netherlands. Absolutely awesome recording - chilling that it is so good. If you haven't tried it, you should.

Makes all the energy and time and dollars worth it ....

I feel inferior after catching up on this thread. Very little of the music mentioned is on my radar. I will have to humbly add my list soon which will shift this thread more toward Acoustic and electric guitars and synthesizers.

This latest release would be Paul Berner Band's - "The Bird Has Flown" which is currently on sale at a €5 discount in all resolutions.

I've downloaded Carmen Gomes Inc. "Thousand Shades of Blue" and "Carmen Gomes Sings the Blues". Very much enjoying them. Fantastic recording quality. Thanks to the OP Pau for starting this thread and sharing Sound Liaison website.

In case anyone experiences problems with their downloads failing, just email Sound Liaison and they'll resolve the issue. I had a problem with the new Paul Berner album in that the download would repeatedly terminate before it was complete. I emailed them and Frans then sent me the files via WeTransfer which I was able to download successfully. A very customer friendly company whose recordings are truly of reference quality.

21. Holy Cole , Temptation. This is an old favorite of mine. The Sound of the bass has not stood the test of time but the production is incredible.

What are your 20 best SOUNDING albums....

I just got this...

Holly Cole, Temptation (Hybrid SACD)

ANALOGUE PRODUCTIONS remaster

Saw this highlighted by TAS as one of its Top 40 Best Sounding Recordings. Very nicely done even though I find the ever present deep-bass sonics a bit over the top. The booklet says it's acoustic bass .

Overall a great disc to enjoy a sassy female voice. As far as I can tell, all music is performed on actual acoustic instruments. Happy to have it.

Ok. I've been playing the Holly Cole ^^^ SACD this afternoon.

In track 4, Temptation, you can hear a dog wailing in the background. It is as if Ms. Cole just brought her dog to the recording session. Very subtle, except for the bark which is obvious, but the dog is there during the whole track. At the end of the song the dog walks to Ms. Cole from the right speaker to the left speaker panting .
