MX150 and JL subs?

I'll try that. Ron indicated that there would be a huge correction factor. But i'll try it. Can't hurt and I can always go back........It is just a pain in the ass to do the whole RP for just one minor adjustment. ANy workaround to avoid that time consumption.

Obviously, I am NEW to the MX150 and my questions continue...

Currently, I am using two front subs, neither of which have their own EQ calibration, BUT I can use my Velodyne SMS-1 sub equalizer for both of them which I have been doing and which brings up my question.

Which way is superior with Room Perfect (before running a new calibration with RP), connect both subs to the SMS-1 and obtain the best flat response that I can as I look at the display on the screen and connect the subout on the SMS-1 to the ".1" sub input of the MX150 which would essentially treat both subs as one ----- OR ------ is it possible to completely lose the SMS-1 and connect the two subs to the MX150 LFE output using a splitter and allow RP to do the sub EQ along with the rest of the frequencies instead of the SMS-1? My goal here is to use both subs for the .1 LFE and not L&R subs.

Hope this question was clear enough -- will try to clarify if more info is needed.

IS there a better option I have not considered?

You can set up your MVP881 to generate a sub track off 5.0 SACD or any disk without a .1 track. You will want to come in the MX150 external if you want pure SACD even though it will come through the HDMI out of the 881. It will be PCM if over HDMI.

I re-configured my system on Sunday. I am now using my MX150 for 2CH with the sub running the 2CH signal through my C1000T. I was trying to keep my 2CH and HT electronics separate.

Connecting them together allows me to use my sub and RP in 2CH.

I ran RP with everything crossed-over at 80Hz. The volume calibration level said my max volume should be set at -12db. I will never hit that volume level for normal listening or watching movies. The sub test tone was vibrating a couple walls way to much (constant rattles) so I ran the test with -20db volume level. Also I ran the JL Audio ARO sub calabration first.

My end result was 94% room knowledge with 5 measurements and a 28% correction.

I tried running RP with my main speakers set at XXL and the sub turned off with a 95% room knowledge with 5 measurements and a 23% correction. I then turned the sub on but that proved to be to much in the bass section.

So my question is there a better way to run RP?

What does 28% RC actually mean?

Is 28% to high?

RoomKnowledge
The RoomKnowledge index is a parameter that tells how much of the room’s acoustical properties have
been learned. A high RoomKnowledge ( 90%) means that most of the room’s acoustical properties have
been learned. The more room measurements you add, the higher the RoomKnowledge will become.
The more that the acoustical properties of the room are learned, the greater the accuracy of the room
correction.

RoomCorrection
The RoomCorrection index is a measure of how much processing is being employed in the room correction
fi lter. To some extent the RoomCorrection index refl ects how audible the correction is. However, the
same amount of processing can sound very diff erent due to placement in frequency of the processing.
For low values (below 10%) of the room correction index, only subtle correction is needed to the original
sound in the room. With high room correction index values more extensive processing is employed.
