Bi-wire on single post speakers
I am considering changing speakers. The speakers that I am looking at are single binding posts, my cables are bi-wire. Any opinions on using my current 26' custom wires that I really don't want to change by just putting the high and low frequency spades together on the speakers? Amps remain MC501's.
Thanks for your thoughts on this! |

It will work fine and should be an improvement over single runs. Some call it a shotgun connection. When you put the spades together on the binding post make sure you put them on top of each other, back to back. That has always worked best for me.
Good luck: Tom

Thank you all. Not having to replace my cables will factor into the decision. This is a big help.
I am seriously considering Martin Logan CLXes. I have listened to them a few times now and they are truly extraordinary. They don't play quite as loud as my speakers, but the soundstage is incredible. Voices, particularly female are the best I have ever heard. I love my XRT1K's, but it has been 2 years now and I may be ready for a change. I have listened to some of the best speakers out there and the Macs hold there own against some of the best. I'm not fully sure about the switch, but seriously considering it. Any thoughts out there on the CLXes? |
