Bob Weissburg, North American president of D&M Holdings, issued a statement on two facilities in Japan.

At its Kawasaki Office Building all employees returned safely to their homes over the weekend and the office re-opened March 14. "While the building sustained some damage, repairs are currently underway and we expect operations to approach relatively normal levels within the next couple of days," Weissburg said.

At the company's Shirakawa Manufacturing Facility, "because the facility sustained some damage, it will remain closed through Wednesday, March 16. During this time we will obtain a more complete picture of the damage, put response plans in place and have physical inspections conducted to verify the facility can be re-opened safely. The Shirakawa area is experiencing significant infrastructure challenges, including the shutdown of major highways, bullet train service, water supply and potential power disruptions."

Back on topic, barring the above, I am after the difference in sound Quality. I am not yet in the camp of spending hundreds of $ on power cords-not that there may be a significant difference-I just haven't had the oppotunity to test such a thing.

I currently am able to run a McIntosh MC402 amp & the Marantz amp AND the Array sub thru the C46. I do not run the amps at the same time-although I could. I use the Marantz for the 1400 Arrays and the Mac for the JBL
S/2600's--it is nice to be able to change up the sound.

Could the Marantz pre do that? Does it have enough outputs? Perhaps these are silly questions but the SC7S2 cost some serious $
Thanks!

The SC7S2 has one set of balanced outputs and two sets of single ended outputs. The single ended outputs are in parallel and can be used at the same time. I am not sure if the balanced and single ended can be used at the same time.

Yes, they are similar in price and performance.

The Black Mamba is very thick and difficult to route. I've had mine a long time.

Thanks Ivan, I have the Diamondback power cables which are not as good as the Black Momba. The WW Silver Electra must be fantastic !!!

Im sure that the Silver is noticeably better and with your gear you may tell more of a difference than mine. Having said that I am very pleased with the plain vanilla electras .

Is $2990 a good price on a 9/10 used unit? (SC7S2)

Thanks

Marantz SC-7s2 : Used Prices
New List: $8000.00 Not enough data to graph
Used avg: $5840.00
Marantz SC-7s2 released 2008, 5 inputs, 46 lbs

Seems like a good deal. This according to audiogon.

Awesome. Thanks a lot. Now, pulling the trigger. I bought the amps w/o hearing them for $6700-I love them. I suspect will the same with the pre.

Thanks again!
