KI Pearl Integrated Phono Stage MM Gain?
Has anyone else had a problem with the mm gain? I have to turn the volume way up there, like 85%, to get where I like it. Normal setting for the rest of the gear is between 60-75%. I'm using a Music Hall mmf 5 with a Goldring 2400 cart.

It means that your amp is about to blow up. I'll take it off your hands cheap. I've noticed on my PM8004 and Ortofon 2M Bronze that I need to have the volume higher than with other sources and the same is true for when I use a PM-15S2 at one of the local dealers.

Evans224.......Looking at the specifications for the Goldring 2400 it shows an output of 6.5 millivolts. Looking at the specifications on the Marantz K1 Pearl it shows a maximum input voltage on the moving coil input of 15 millivolts. Why not try connecting the tonearm cables to the moving coil input? If the K1 allows adjustment of cartridge resistance loading set it to 47,000 Ohms. Give it a try and let us know how that works

Unfortunately, the MC setting sounds much worse. I had tried that before with no success. Oh well. I guess if really need to rock, digital it is!
