Vinyl is my priority also. The 15S2 is a nice player and shouldn't be a problem. I've had bad luck with the SA11S1 that went back for repair 9 times in a 3 year time frame. Marantz replaced it with a S2 and now it's doing the same thing. I'm not impressed to say the least plus their customer service is horrible.

I hear ya, Dave. It's just very disappointing in view of the Premium Reference tag Marantz place on the SA-11's. I would have expected much better CS from them. After all, it ain't no budget player and to have 2 fail and one of them supplied directly as a replacement, well, that's just not acceptable.

Does not surprise me!I had a new DV9600($850) which the Upgrade Company modded($1100CAN),I recieved it not working properly,had it dropped off at a local authorized Marantz repair center and guess what????
Some of the parts needed were unavailable anymore for this player(this was in 2009).Over 500 days went by and Marantz offered me a "B"stock UD8004 for $1100+tx and they keep the 9600(had almost $2000 in it)!!The 9600 had only 25hrs of use since I bought it.I told them to kiss my ass!

mb2...my sentiments exactly. They are a disgrace to their customers when it comes to repair and customer service.

Marantz SACD - SA11 S2
2008 (2.5yo now) and operating perfectly, and better stay that way for years to come. Impressed its still a current model in 2011.
