Please keep my wife in your prayers and thoughts
Guys,
What started as a beautiful Sunday bike ride ended terribly less than 200 yds from home. My wife Maria took a very bad spill off of her bike, freak accident, face first into the pavement. Two trips to the ER, first for 2 stitches on inner lower lip, 2 stiches outer lower lip, 3 stitches on her chin. Had to retrun tothe ER that night because bleeding would not subside. Her jaw is now misaligned but not broken, teeth are loose (she had a CT facial scan at the ER). Dental surgeoun told us yesterday that although the nerves will die in her fractured teeth (she has always been very obsessed about her beautiful smile) she is lucky she did not loose them. Once she gets healed veneers will fix the chipped/broken teeth. Tomorrow we go see the plastic surgeon about her stitches and what to expect in the healing process. Currently she cannot eat solid food and is taking much medication. I am her caregiver and the words patient and patience do not go together well in this case. It may be awhile before I come backonline. Kevin Yes, she was wearing a helmut - a Bell; but no face guard on it.

Kevin,
I am so sorry about your Maria's terrible spill. When I read "face first into the pavement", my whole body cringed, and then, reading about the aftermath, it made me first, happy that she survived the fall, but then incredibly sad for her and for you that the damage was so severe. My thoughts and prayers are indeed with you and Maria at this time of hardship for you both. Julian
