Default Cary Audio & Tannoy at 2014 CES

I received the following email from Cary Audio Design regarding the 2014 CES.
Join us at the 2014 CES!

Thought I would share.

I've been following the DMS-500 since October 2013 when it was shown in prototype form. As I transfer and store my CDs on the server, and download more and more 24/192, and DSD music files products like this have my interest.

I received it as well. It will be fun to get more info on that DMS-500. I like that they are using the SLI-80 in one of their rooms too!

Don.......Thanks for the link. The Cary DMS-500 sounds intriguing. Here's a photo (top component) of the new DMS-500. MSRP: $3995.00

That is a sharp looking device. I would like to see a pic of the back of it.

Do we have the DAC specs for the unit? Would it replace a stand alone DAC in the chain?

Eric.......According to AudioStream, the Cary DSM-500 offers all of the connectivity you'd expect from a network player including DLNA/UPnP, Ethernet, S/PDIF (Coax and Toslink), USB for connecting up to 3TBs worth of USB storage, as well as AptX Bluetooth so you can stream from a smartphone or tablet. The DMS-500 also houses a 32/192-capable DAC.

Thanks jdandy... I am a bit of a Dac nut. I wonder what Dac chip they are using? Can it do DSD? Cary has always been a bit vague about their Dac specs.

Based on the following from the email from Cary it appears the DMS-500 will support DSD.

"The DMS-500 is a DLNA/UPnP Network Audio Streamer capable of not only 32 bit/384kHz high-resolution files, but also native DSD file playback."
