Yes. And MC601s have been on my radar. I’m also shopping around for upgraded mains, so if I end up getting crazy, I’d be in bi-amp territory. For now, I’ll keep rocking the mc402 which hardly breaks a sweat even if I let it rip. My ears tap out before the amp does.

I see you have MX130, and some other gear of similar vintage. I too have MX130 with MAC3.
If you do not mind going on the used market, and being patient, you can find vintage amps with enough power for almost anything. I have two MC2500s, four MC2255s, and two MC2205s,all running in mono mode. Yes, it took some patience to find them, but it sure is nice to have 4,400 watts available! The problem now is space since my wife and I moved fro 4,000 sq ft home to 1,200 sq ft apartment in retirement center. Oh yes!!! There is also the weight of all of these units with autoformers (especially the MC2500s - I cannot move them by myself any more!!!!) Thanks, Jim |

I'm very sorry to read that you're without the room you would like for all of your McGear. After spending more than a decade in a [quiet] condo environment, we finally moved back into a home and, consequently, are now very fortunate to have the space we need for our first 5.1 A/V room. This being the case, I will certainly give your sage words the thought they deserve. After all, our MC300 is no spring chicken -- and we continue to love and appreciate it.

I have enjoyed my first 207 for over 10 years and just bought a second new one. Both sound great.
