As I live only 2 hours from the centre of Paris, I've been there quite a lot of times with friends from all over the world.
I always start my guiding tour at the Notre Dame. This is a real tragedy. An architectural pearl, with an organ that you can feel in your belly when it's played. I hope they could save most art...

So, so sad. Some of my most moving/favorite listening has been the singing of high mass in Notre Dame. We always time our visits to Paris to include a Sunday for that reason. Hopefully, the two towers and the majority of the exterior walls will remain so all can be rebuilt.
