Default Las Vegas restaurant recommendations

My wife and I are going to Vegas next week for 5 days! Can't wait! We're going to try and not recreate "The Hangover"' but if I come back with a large facial tattoo, I'll be sure and post some pictures! . Anyway, we're staying at The Cosmopolitan for a few nights and Aria for a few as well. Does anyone have some good restaurant recommendations? We like all your typical cuisine.....Steakhouses, Italian, sushi, French....buffets of course . Probably will hit the Bellagio's buffet unless there's a much better alternative. Also was thinking about doing the Top Of The World at the Stratosphere, but have heard the restaurant is overrated. What do you all think?

If anything, let me know what you loved and what to avoid.

Will do......the only thing I really have my heart set on is a steak at SW Steakhouse at the Wynn. I've read and been told by a couple people who have been there that it's one of the best steakhouses in the country. We have reservations there next Wednesday.

You MUST go to Bouchon in the Venetian for breakfast. It's on the 10th floor. Totally worth finding. It has no equal.

Mesa Grill at Caesar's is a Bobby Flay restaurant I like very much. Moderately priced.

In the Aria, the tapas at Julian Serrano are sublime. You'll have to go to Barcelona to match them.

I recently splurged at Joel Robouchon in the MGM Grand. Right next door was the less expensive Atelier Robouchon. Fantastic.

Lastly, I think the best steak in Vegas is at Craftsteak in the MGM Grand. Really phenomenal.

Steak: craftsteak. The bisque is superb.
Italian: il mulino
3* : Joel Robuchon. Breadcart. Nuff said.
1* : l'atelier. Pommes puree. Lots.
Kitchen table at emerils mgm is solid.
Thai: lotus of siam.
American fish at aria was solid when it opened - especially at the bar. Lobster Wellington still likely on the menu.
Julian at aria for tapas also solid (gambas).
Bouchon (restaurant) for epi bread and chilled shrimp.
Errr i could go on and on...

My two favourite buffets are Bacchanal at Ceasers and the Wicked Spoon at Cosmopolitan. My take on buffets is that you are there for quantity and sacrifice quality. I think the quality at Wicked Spoon is better but the selection is better at Bacchanal.

My favorite burger is Gordon Ramsey Burgr at Planet Hollywood. I also quite fancy Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak, and Stone Crab at Ceasers; this is probably my favourite restaurant in Vegas. Service and food are outstanding. It is finer dining and not cheap.

For the late night snack to take the buzz away try Secret Pizza at Cosmopolitan as you are staying there.

For Japanese Fusion you must try SENSI in the Bellagio--superb

For cheap but good and quick--PF Changs--Paradise next to the Strip and other

outlets bit further out

IF you are into Chocolate--there is a Choc Shop in the Bellagio also--you can't miss it --the windows are Chocolate flowing waterfalls--its down by the Atrium

after you leave you car with the Bellagio Flamingo exit Valet--enter and turn right and keep walking

The above posters mentioned the Posh Nosh--

Bon Apetit!

I ate at the SW last week. It was outstanding. Don't spend too much cash at the tables, you'll need it at the SW.
