as soon as Audiopraise can provide a replacement digital output board (capable of transfering high res formats) I will get one for my second set.

I have the 203 in the two channel room. When the 205 comes out, it will replace the 203 in the 2 channel room, and the 203 will go to the theater room.

I will take a hard look at the 205. As far as I know it will offer streaming to be similar to their Sonica line of players/DACs.

My intent would to be use it as a pre/pro and streamer directly into a multichannel amp in our our small media room, but need to research this a bit.

I have the Oppo HA-1 and am very impressed with their quality.

Yes but I am hoping that it will be a multichannel streamer compatible with Roon and/or JRiver.

I am surprised at how tight lipped Oppo is being about the UDP-205.

Most likely Dan I will keep the Oppo 95 I have. I skipped the 105 but will get this unit.

I also want a new TV set for one of the rooms 4k etc looking at yet another new OLED 75" pro processor etc. When I do that upgrade the 205 will go with the new set. I think that all the main features it has that I read on a beta release should be similar to the 105 with additions and maybe a take away or two. That said, for serious sound I fall back to the K03. But I prefer this 205 in my MX150 driven rig over the 203 for the performance edge etc.

Saw the prelim specs and they told me it should be in the $1600 range list so I think it will work for me

Dave.......Thanks for the additional information. The price point seems right, too.

I've been told the 203 has no apps (Youtube, Netflix etc). Is this true for the 205 as well?

Already have the 203 in the HT. I have had the 83, 93, 103 in the HT, and never use them to play music in the HT. There are better sources for that.

I'm planning on getting one. I have a 105 in another room, but I'm just finishing up a room for my audio system. I got a 4K TV for that room. If I can use it to play 4K and stream Netflix, etc. then I will have one. However, I'll likely wait on some reviewers to go first (that means you, Kal :-)
