As to the wonderful British accents . . . often I have trouble understanding what's being said on my TV . . . so we always add closed captioning - in English - and it makes watching so much more enjoyable - because we can understand what they are saying.

The closed captioning may be the way to go. I usually avoid anything with subtitles as I find it distracting, but I would only need this if I'm having trouble picking up the dialogue. Thanks.

I will check out acorn. I'm not real happy with Netflix right now. It seems that everything I want to watch is "not available for steaming at this time".
