So, after having my new setup for a couple of days I realize voices are to low when watching cable programs. It's really good when watching a Blu-ray. I guess my least expensive option is to add a center channel and AV receiver? Please help!

If you are ever contemplating 4K, any investment you have in the Oppo will be obsolete . . . .
He is already obsolete with the projector purchase. That being the case the Oppo 105 is a viable option. I use my Oppo to downmix to stereo only to my Mc C45. I can also use the Oppo to send 5.1 on to the C45. He can use the Oppo 105 almost as a receiver while he's pondering going 4k etc.

Have you taken SPL readings between cable and Blu-Ray? I suspect that the dialog difference (assuming that you really do have center fill because your speakers are in the sweet spot) is due to volume differences. My Blu-Ray player output louder than my cable box until I level matched it.

That said, I have to join the others in saying that if you have a screen the size you have, and are therefore sitting back where you should be, you need a center channel/AV receiver. Here is an easy test: pick a movie where the plane flies across the front, or a train barrels through, or the like. If you hear sound, gap, sound instead of a steady pan, you need a center channel. If it is an even pan, then see above about volume match.

I ordered a Monitor Audio center channel. Any recommendations for a reasonably priced AV receiver?

True 4K projectors are way more than I can spend. They are nice though, my friend has one(20K). I'm a 2 channel guy, but blessed that I'm able to have the projector for the family to enjoy. In a couple of years hopefully the cost of 4k projectors will be more affordable

Consider an Oppo in your set up. It might tide you over until you move to 4K.

I already purchased the Oppo 103D a couple of days ago. Is there a significant difference between it and the 105D? If so, what?

The 105D has extra DACS for decoding up to 7.1 channels. It's probably the way to go if you are going to have the Blu-ray do the sound work. Still, you have a good player, and you are way to a full multi-channel home theater. You should enjoy it for a while.

I have a Jeff Rowland Aeris DAC. I don't understand how the 105D would improve the sound. I'm a 2 channel person, that decided to add a projector for my family's entertainment. I want decent sound when viewing cable. The sound from Blu-ray is great. I guess the cable box compresses the sound? How do I fix it?

Check out Anthem or Marantz.
