I'm wondering how well the Krell Foundation processor will compare with the S-1200. I'm betting the S-1200 is better for analog audio, but for hdmi, if the Krell Foundation is nearly as good, I'll get the Foundation processor. I'm also contemplating the Marantz AV8801, because there's so many positive comments on it. I'm hoping the Foundation will be better than the AV8801, and it will be a nice price point (being 1/2 the price of the S-1200). The Foundation should be out within a week or two...

Actually, it's been your posts here and in the AVS 8801 threads that have me rethinking the Marantz. I have a Krell S-1500 amp, so it would be nice to get the Foundation processor to go with it. I'm in Laveen, AZ (Phoenix). Let us know here if you get the S-1200.

Ha, shooting myself in my own foot, lol! Yeah, to be honest, I'm clearly in the minority on the av8801. Most everybody is gaga over it. For whatever reason, it's just not for me. I think mostly because I just don't have the time to really work with it. it's incredibly flexible, but I'm incredibly lazy, lol (actually, I'm just way too busy to devote a lot of time to tweaking).

Well Dave, you asked me to let you know, and I did it. Ordered the Krell S-1200 and should get it this coming week. I posted a new thread on it, but probably should have just added it to this one. I will let you know what I think as soon as I can.

Well, I guess I will be finding out for myself within the next couple of weeks, as I just purchased an S-1200 today. It will arrive the middle of next week.

Dave.......Exciting news. It's starting to look like the Krell S-1200 is the processor to beat for multichannel home theater and especially two channel enjoyment. Looking forward to your impression once installed. Don't forget how much we like photos.
