I have one 302, not "e" one but the first issue of this great power amp. I'm so agree with this review, just in my opinion, 302 amp emphasize a little bit low frequencies...but I love it

The E series Krells are in my top three SS amps made reguardless of price. If I needed the power they (402e) would be what I choose if moving away from my tube amps.

What is the difference between the older version and the "E" version.

Hello,

In Frank Berryman’s review, he stated the amp ran completely silent.
When turning mine on (blue circle), there is a low but audible hum.
Is this normal or should it be absolutely silent like when it’s on standby mode.

You could have a little DC on you electrical lines. I did before I had new outlets installed. A PS Audio Humbuster III, or similar, will take care of it. My 948 conditioner actively removes DC, it's wonderful.

I have the amp plugged into a Pure Power 1050.
Do you think it needs a dedicated 20amp outlet or maybe the PP1050 isnt enough to handle that plus the other audio and computer components

Is the hum from the speakers or from the transformer? I run my 403E straight to the 20A wall outlet and it's silent.

Are you using RCA or XLR? If you are using RCA inputs, be sure to short pin 2 to ground pin of XLR otherwise, the negative input of XLR will be floating. This will cause hum.
