You can't go wrong with either. However, I personally would go with a Ref 6. It is better sounding. And, since you have taken the phono out of the equation...Let us know what you decide!

Well my dealer has read the fine print from Audio Research and it's not the deal as I posted here. As BillK stated in the upgrade thread, I can't upgrade to the next model up. I'd need to upgrade to Ref10. So, I'm out

What!! I knew it seemed too good to be true. I guess ref6 owners have no upgrade at all under the deal.

I think it has to be a sizable increase in cost so Ref5 Ref6 is marginal but I think you could get the deal for a Ref10

My 2 cents.

While I think the GS150 is one of the if not the best product ARC has ever introduced, I cannot say the same for the Pre.

REF6 definitely.
