Dual mono’s or dual stereo’s?
I would like to bi-amp my speakers ( Monitor Audio PL300).
One choice is to get 2 x 4b cubes and use each amp per speakers with one channel driving the lower frequency and other channel driving the higher frequency. Second choice is get 2 x 7B cube mono’s and use one per speaker. Which setup will result in best sound quality – dual mono’s or dual stereo’s?

Hi Banter
Because the speaker has a built in passive crossover I would go with the 7B's. james |

Thank you, James. The dealer said the same thing.

Go with the one amp per speaker.
Not all speakers are amenable to bi, tri or multi-amping. Use two amps per speaker (Bi-Amp) ONLY if you can surgically separate the woofer section from the midrange/tweeter section by cutting wires in the speaker's crossover. Last edited by GaryProtein; 06-13-2017 at 12:48 AM. |

Gary, I thought by removing the jumper cables at back of speaker, you are non-surgically separating the two sections.

I don't know how your speaker is wired internally. You have to check the schematics. Removing the jumpers MIGHT completely separate the woofer and midrange tweeter sections.
