A couple of questions:
1. Does Roon Core run on the BDP-3 or do I need a separate PC for this?
2. How will it compare sound wise to the BDP-1?

Hi

1. We are looking at that and the BDP-3 appears to have enough horsepower but not sure ROON will allow it.

2. It will sound better mainly because of the Bryston Sound card that is not available in the BDP-1.

So what does "The Bryston BDP-3 is also a Roon Ready device" mean in the press release?

What about using the USB connection between BDP-3 and DAC, is that preferable sonically to RCA? I realise that USB is the only route for my extensive DSD library ;-)

I guess the only difference between the BDA-3 and the BDA-2 is USB 3.0, correct?

Why do you need USB3?
The BDP-1 has no problems getting music from the attached drive using USB2.
I've never heard any drop outs or stuttering

I don't need USB 3.0. I was just asking a question. What is the difference between the BDA-2 and 3? Is it the USB 3.0?

The DACs are upgraded/updated and better in the BDA-3, if I'm not mistaken.

We appear to have got our wires crossed - this thread is about the new BDP-3.
I presume GBABY was referring to the BDP-3 too.
I agree with his comments, the only difference is the USB 3 which appears to be of questionable value.
Not much point upgrading to this new item?
