Doesn't sound ridiculous at all. I find SFs deliver with a wide variety of options, it's just a question of which flavour you happen to prefer.

I've decided (although recommendation is always welcomed) on three amp, do you guys have any experience on this three pairing?

1. Pathos Audio Ethos
2. Audio Research VSi60
3. Audio Research DSi200

My room is small; it's 11ft x 10ft.

Please help me here, and sorry for my English as its not my first language.

Thanks.
I used the DSi200 together with my previous Olympica 3. Good combo partly because of the horse power you get. The amp is on the warm/tuby side of the spectrum so it is also up to what you're looking for. To me the Sonus Faber in combo with the MSB Analog dac and the Di200 was a bit "too rich" for my taste. So I got a Jeff Rowland integrated and Nordost cables to play with my Amati Futuras.

Hi bigblue,

Thanks for sharing your experience. I don't want to add another option in the lineups, but do you have any experience with the old Gryphon Callisto 2100?
I'm asking about it because there is someone in my local forum currently selling it, with quite a good price. 😊

Thanks.

I recently traded my Sasha's for Amati Futuras. At the same time I moved to a new house. My new room is 17'X35' with a 9' ceiling.

I was using Doshi electronics with my Wilsons and hoped they would work well with the Amati Futuras. They do! The system sounds wonderful. The amps put out 90wpc, but have huge transformers which is why they always did such a great job driving the Wilsons.

It's only been about 4 weeks in the new house and with the new speakers, so I still have a lot of tweaking to do.

Keep us posted on how things settle in. I had never heard of Doshi before so I looked them up: very nice looking amps, glad they worked out with the Futuras.

Funny I have Sonus faber although only Cremona M but I always thought that a pair of Sasha would be a great speaker why did you go for Sonus faber just interested to know?
Like that's a big change and are curious as to what you heard in the Futures to change

Hi Paul. I loved the Sashas and owned them for over 6 years which is much longer than I typically hold on to speakers! They were excellent in terms of detail, dynamics and bass punch. However over time the Ti tweeter just became too prominent for me. I found myself always trying to integrate the tweeter and keep it from calling too much attention to itself. After an hour or so of listening I would consistently experience fatigue and then be done for the day.

The Futuras retain all that I loved about the Wilsons include huge soundstage and nearly full range sound. But they are better (in my opinion) in terms of overall balance with a wonderful tone across the frequency spectrum. The treble is there, but doesn't call attention to itself like the Sashas. However there are times I am surprised by the treble impact. The midrange is just beautiful, with every voice sounding unique and guitars/strings sounding about as good as when I owned Quads. And surprising, maybe most of all, is that they play lower than the Sashas. I am hearing deeper bass than before, although this may also be a function of my larger listening room. While there is less bass attack, there is more bloom and depth. Finally, and maybe most telling, is that I have to pull myself away from the music room now! I find myself putting on "just one more" album side.

There is a reason that Wilson has dropped the Ti tweeter in its line up and has gone with a soft dome. If I were looking at another Wilson speaker, definitely start with the new designs such as the Sabrina.

Regards,

Dave

Thank you for this time you have taken to explain.
I agree if you listen to music like I / we do for more than an hour or so it's important to get the right equipment.
Bright speakers and amps can become hard to listen to.
Yes your also right about the Sonus faber sound it's very easy to listen to Music.
Thanks again.
