@docmd2010- you are in for even more of a treat once you reach 24-48 hours. Soundstage gets even better definition and the sound becomes more organic w/o losing any precision. Enjoy!

Martin

mdavis...

Thanks! I look forward to this moment. i do feel that the low end is a little muddy still so i look forward to that opening up. the upper mids and highs was an immediate improvement over my other cable.

@docmd2010 the bass gets really interesting. Once it settles you'll notice that there's more weight and authority. However, perhaps the most interesting thing is the increased speed, color, and timberl accuracy of the bass. It becomes much easier to follow very subtle changes in the musician's technique on bass. ....and I thought that my bass was already above reproach.

Perhaps the most fun for me at the moment is listening to a bass drum whack and then, after the intital impact event, hear it travel across the recording space as it finds the boundaries of the space.

After my new martin logan speakers have broken in....they are already sounding tremendous after the 95 hour point. I really need to start updating and upgrading my interconnects. I am not going to even state what I am using for the USB. Super cheap and frankly embarrassing.

So I have kind of grown up on Audioquest. Not sure where it started but there you have it.

Seems like some love the AQ Diamond USB and some love the WW Plat Starlight. And I realize these can be system dependent.

My gear is in my signature. Would welcome some advice. Thx.

I have been using Wireworld Platinum Starlight 6 USB cable for few years.
I am curious what's the difference between 6 and 7.
It seems very little information on the web, at least I had never found any.

I see Wireworld offers a 5 meter run of the Starlight 3.0 cable.

Just the length I need.

However while researching I realized that 5 meter is the maximum length for USB 2.0.
3.0 has a maximum length of 3 meters before degradation.

With this in mind, why is Wireworld offering a 5 meter run?

It does not say that this length has a repeater, does it?

Just swapped out my Audioquest Diamond USB for the WW Starlight Platinum 7 USB and at first I wasn't sure I liked it as much. Out of the box it was warmer than the Audioquest which i liked but didn't seem to have the same clarity as the diamond but the sound stage did seem deeper so I kept it playing and somewhere around 100 hours sat down for another listen and went ... holy cow, my system has never sounded this open, detailed and neutral before. Now it was starting to sound like I was thinking it could all along. I'm not sure I've ever heard a bigger difference on cable break in than with this one and I'm shocked but will gladly accept the results!

All I can say is Thanks Ivan!

I switched from the AQ Diamond USB to the WW Platinum Starlight USB 2.0 a couple years ago. Significant improvement. More clarity and resolution. I was surprised. Same difference compared to Transparent Cable's top of the line USB cable.
