Default Soon available Klipsch Forte III

At CES. On display is the Forte III. This is one of my favorite Heritage series as it has a tractrix midhorn. The III version has chief engineer Roy Delgado's lastest tractrix midhorn technology.

This is on my purchase list.

The mid-range is where the music lies and a square Tractrix profile horn brings out the best in 'live' sound quality. With the 15" passive radiator bass will get down to 38Hz +/- 3db.

Yes, their Heritage returns haven't been a favorite of mine. I don't have a desire to buy a new Klipschorn, Lascala II, Cornwall III, or Heresy III as these still have the original exponential midhorn out of respect for PWK.

The late Forte II and the Chorus II did not have the exponential horn and had a Tractrix variety that still sound good to me. These were last produced in the late 80's and early 90's.

I still have the Forte II and a few years ago sold my Chorus II to a friend. The earlier Chorus I and Forte I did not have a tractrix midhorn.

The Forte III, revisited with Roy Delgado key involvement, is an invitation for purchase. Hopefully out mid summer. It appears its midhorn was borrowed from the proline.

Pretty cool!

I've got both the Chorus II's and the Heresy II's. I use them in the exercise room when I want to crank up some Prodigy or Chemical Brothers while running on the treadmill. Both can get REALLY loud to motivate me. They were both upgraded with Crites titanium diaphragms & have rebuilt crossovers. Although they are pretty amazing speakers now that they are upgraded, they are still lacking bass, especially the Heresy. I haven't heard the Forte II's, but spec-wise they extend lower. I'd expect the new Forte III's to extend just as low. I would love to hear them.

Bob Crites is an awesome rep for updating old Klipsch. About the best resource there is.

Yes, the Forte II was a lower kicker and I believe had the best midbass.

My Forte II's aren't going anywhere, but the new III version does look desirable, must resist
