Default Question For Power Plant Premier And PerfectWave Cable Owners

Is anyone using PS Audio PerfectWave power cables between a PPP and components?

When I placed an AC-12 between the PPP and the components in my two channel system, the sound was veiled. Likewise, when AC-5's and AC-12's were placed between the two PPP's and components in my home theater system I experienced the same veiling. However, when a PerfectWave cable is placed between the wall and a PPP or the wall and a component, the sound is more open and detailed and the bass is stronger.

My turntable speed also slowed slightly with the AC-12 between the PPP and the turntable motor controller.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I sent my findings to PS Audio. They thought the turntable speed variance may have been due to some interaction between the speed controller and the AC-12's capacitance. They have not gotten back to me regarding the veiling.

I have never used Perfectwave cables but what you think you are experiencing may not be what is happening. Some cables and power cords lower the noise floor and remove some of the "hash" we may be used to hearing. Just a thought.

If you read the quantitative analysis sections of the two PerfectWave power cord reviews I linked to, it will be evident that I am aware of the noise floor lowering effects of good power cords.

Something else is going on, which is why I specifically asked for insights from PPP and PW owners.

Thanks.

Sorry. The only person on this site that I know owned the PS Power Cords was Jerry, and he sold them. The rest of us just use other power cords with our PPP's

OK.

Since I only experienced the veiling when a PW cord was between a PPP and a component, I wondered if it was due to my particular components or if there was something about the PW cables themselves.

I experimented with PS Audio's AC-12 & didn't care for it. Although I did not experience what you have described.

I use WW Silver Electra's exclusively in all my systems.

What improvements did the Silver Electras provide over the AC-12's?

FWIW, i love my PPP but i have not been thrilled by PSA power cords in the past. Specifically, i have a pair of Statement XStream PCs i purchased 3+ yrs ago (version 1). THey do more harm than good. I have never again tried one of their cords.

Well, the PPP, PWT & PWD are still with me and so are the 5 PW 12 power cords (1 British and 4 US type). And of course the IS2 cable too.

The Power Cables

1. They are really well build. Never seen a cable build and terminated like that.

2. I am unable to comment on the performance cause I never did cables comparison - especially power cause its really a chore for me to move in and out between racks. Now, it will be worse cause mobility is even more restricted with a DESIGN & BUILD console.

I have yet to sell these items off as I dont know if I could bear to let them go, not because of the loss but more so in terms of familiarity with them. I was thinking maybe I should give them more time. But then, alas, I never would even have space to store them. So ..... still thinking hard.

I am sorry I could not answer any questions except for their aesthetics.

Cheers!
