No. Maybe you need to do the upgrade.

You're right--does it work automatically if I'm connected by cat5?

Thanks.
I haven't upgraded since I bought the thing--Will it skip "generations" of firmware OK?

No. Perhaps its time for you to upgrade the software.

No way, what Sony and what processor is reporting 24 bit depth? It is likely a mistake.

No mistake here. All my Sonys play SACD @ 176.4/24 PCM. They are the XA-5400ES, BDP-S780 and the PS3. The processor is the Bryston SP3.

2 issues. I've been a very happy owner for about a year and a half. I got the upgrade sent to me by one of the engineers at Bryston. Is there another procedure now? Is it worthwhile?
Secondly, is there a way to turn off the 12 volt trigger for a specific input? I have used the SP3 only for home theater duties. I recently started using it as a video switcher and to lower the screen via one of the triggers. Due to the configuration in my room, I'd like the screen NOT to trigger when I use the USB input with my Mac Mini. I only recently got around to hooking the music system back up and the screen seriously affects the room acoustics. I had originally used a trigger on the back of my projector, but it's not very reliable. Unfortunately, the local dealer from whom I bought the used unit has dropped Bryston as a line, so I can;t ask him. Thanks, David Shapiro |
