Default Getting a MS750 drawer open?
So, I finally (after 12 weeks of procrastination) have the repaired power supply installed, I have the new hard drive mounted in the holder and sitting here...BUT...how do I get the cd tray to open since the original hard drive is corrupt and therefore the tray wouldn't open and the new hard drive is obviously blank so it won't open the drawer either. Do I have to remove the four screws on each side of the cd drive to take it out and open it manually to insert the restoration cd? Also...once I somehow get it open, install the restore disk, turn it on, select golden, etc etc etc...at some point I'll then need to connect an Ethernet cable and tell it to do a software update as well???

Doug.......You will need access to the small hole at the front of the CD transport to push a paperclip in for the tray to open. As for updates, there are none to be had. McIntosh shut down the support server years ago.

Took the whole thing out...don't see a place to put a paperclip
Never mind...I got it open by pushing on a white plastic mechanism.

UPDATE: hold up. The tv screen says "instakking the application software...cdrom/COMPLETE.TAR;1 The standby light is blinking red and the faceplate and display on the MS750 is dark. What do I do next guys.

UPDATE #2 It says software was updated successfully and to restart my system. The disk tray ejected on its own. So, dumb question here but do I just remove the dic, close the tray and power it off then back on??
