P-05x Transport to Mc D1100 - SACD (DSD) Question
I currently feed my Mcintosh D1100 digital music files via USB (Dell XPS/JRiver). For CD, I have an Oppo BDP-105 connected to the D1100 via coax. I am looking to move the Oppo out and add a Transport. I mainly want to play SACDs. I know if I go with the Mc MCT450, I can feed DSD through the proprietary DIN connection. I also like the Esoteric P-05x, but I'm not sure if it's possible to play SACDs and feed DSD to the D1100. Any ideas?

If you want to feed SACD to the DAC you’ll need to use the McIntosh transport.

You can still play a SACD on the Esoteric but it will be converted to 88kHz PCM. Nothing wrong with that.
You can only play the native DSD if the DAC and the transport are the same brand and have the appropriate decryption license hardwired into their gizzards. |

That's what I thought. I want to play native DSD, so I guess the Esoteric is out. Thanks for the replies.
