Has anyone compared the DirectStream to the latest Mcintosh
DACs? Would like to know if this would be an upgrade or just
A different flavor. Of course I would get MQA, but that as a side.
Thanks all

I have enjoyed my DirectStream DAC now for about 3 1/2 years and have applied each firmware update since purchasing the unit, and think that, with Red Cloud the sound is very "analog like".

I purchased their DirectStream memory player, and with the I2S interface, player to DAC, that is the best digital sound I've ever auditioned.

Ted Smith "hit it out of the park" with this upgrade. Thanks Ted!

The DirectStream pairing has replaced the Marantz SA-7S1 in my system. With Redcloud the SQ is very high and I am very pleased.
