I did a dark blue (technically Sherwin Williams inky blue) accent wall in our family/listening room. I wouldn't do a full room in that intense a color, but a single wall can look really, really good. |

Dan.......That sounds like a great choice of colors. Earth tone colors have always appealed to me the best. Looking forward to seeing the finished room.

I love the blue meters on my old McIntosh MC-1201s with LED lighting upgrade. But now I have some serious concerns:
The new MC312 is out and they tout the changes including "Direct LED backlighting now illuminates the front panel for improved color accuracy." What standard to they reference this color accuracy or does anyone know the wavelength of the light? Do I need to use my home theater color calibration system to be able to determine if the color is correct or not? What if my color vision is off and the meters look too yellow or green? Just kidding folks. You know how obsessive and compulsive we can become with our hobby. Meter color is just another wrinkle that I'll have to "worry" about. |

Agree with Dan...contrast is good.
Allow those beauties to be the focal point. |

I'm thinking about going to led's on my 1201's pretty soon. I'm wondering how much of a chore is it to do the upgrade? Also do you have a pic of the new lights? |

It took me about an hour each to R&R the old lighting circuit boards and I did not need to enlist the help of an additional person to move and flip the amps over. If you are comfortable working on electronic equipment it shouldn't be too much of a problem. Take pictures as you go to make reassembly easier. |

Yesterday, they prepped the walls, repairs and primer which dried over night.
Painting should be completed today
