Patrick,

Does the 803 have to be transported standing up or can they be lay side way (both boxed)?

I appreciate your optimism. However, after visiting hundreds of retail stores over the last 20 years, the decent to bad sounding stores outweigh the good to great by a very wide margin.

If the room is bad - it is basically over before it began.

You can lay them down. Best practice is to lay them down on the narrow side of the carton.

Thanks Patrick. I am assuming either side of the narrow side of the box will do.

Also, does anybody know if the Primaluna DiaLogue integrated will have enough power for the 803? I have listened to the integrated but not with the same combo.

HiFi Tone review said that they sounded great with Nagra integrated 300B amp (20 watts) and Marantz promoted their HD AMP (35 watts) with the 803. So this indicates that they should work well. While I had them, I never used a tube amp...but I can confirm they love quality solid state power. Maybe it is best if it is an HP Primaluna. It will be nice if you share your experience once set up.

On my D2's there was a shipping plug you needed to screw in for transport, otherwise you could damage the FST driver.

Just took delivery. One speaker didn't have the bolts for protection during transit (guess the worker was in a rush ) and no hex key.

I just sold all my Parasound Halo gears so now I am powering the speakers with a Yamaha Aventage I will be shopping for separates soon. Beautiful speakers. Glad I bought the 803.

Now I have to teach my three dogs not to go near them.
