Default Not your friendly corner record store - - - but - - -

There is so much used vinyl - much of it in great shape - available almost everywhere, that I seldom find the need to buy "new", although the new, mostly remastered, pressings are superb - and much newly recorded stuff is coming out on high quality LP.

When I do find it necessary to buy "new" I look first at Acoustic Sounds: Vinyl Records, SACDs, DVD Audio, Audiophile Equipment | Acoustic Sounds

Huge selection, fast service.

I have purchase some items from Elusive Disc, and Music Direct.

Mostly I have been picking up used LP's. You have to take you time and look for the good ones, but they're out there.

I just picked up 8 LP's for a $1 each, and all but 2 are without a scratch, and cleaned up real nice.

Online = acoustic sounds. Good people (several from south Louisiana - Who Dat), great service, and fast shipping to my neck of the woods.

I do try to go local whenever I can.

I like Amazon and Amazon UK. It seams like the speciality sites carry too much of the re-do's of older music.

Besides those previously mentioned, I'll add another site that has quick service & packages the product well: themusic.com

You accumulate points with every order -- which can be redeemed for purchases.

Finally, I really like sites that take paypal & this is one (the other being ED).
