Default Adios X2?

I just noticed that the Alexandria X2 Series 2 is no longer on the Wilson website. Apparently, Wilson has decided to stop producing the X2s a little sooner than expected.

That's a goof resulting from the new care taker of the WA website. I told Debby at RMAF. They'll get it fixed soon. The X2 is still being made.

As I undertand the last pair of X2 Series 2 was made in June of 2011. That does not mean they can or will not make another pair.

The last pair of NEW Alexandria X2 Series 2's were actually built and shipped a week or 2 ago!

My info was as of Aug 28th from Jerron. Looks like someone else besides me prefers the metal versus soft dome tweeter in the XLF's.

It's a knee jerk reaction to go with the newer tweeter. When I was doing some work in the rec room about 2 weeks ago Beethoven's 5th was playing fairly loudly in the background. I was deep in concentration but after a particularly loud violin passage I had the thought, "The violins sound different, more analog, sweeter", than I had ever heard them. Then I "listened" to the CD that I had played a million time in the past. I went downstairs and carefully read the OM for the new Transguard Tg60 I had recently installed. See my thread. I enjoy the treble my Maxxes produce. I'm not sure I'd ever want to change. I can only imagine what the X-2 sounds like with its super tweeter. Don't know what type of surge protection you are using, but the Tg60 is the best $2,380.00 I have spent in a long time. Long live the X-2.

Regardless of the new tweeter, the X-2's are a remarkable speaker. When you factor in the blowout deals some authorized dealers were putting on the table (over 60% off MSRP), its no wonder sales were strong towards the end.

I wish I was able to take advantage.......

I read your thread regarding surge protection. I have a Square D SurgeLogic installed that seems to work very well.

SQUARE D SPD, Non Mod, 120/240VAC, 120kA, 1Ph - Hardwire Surge Protection Devices - 6CDA5|TVS1EBA12A - Grainger Industrial Supply
