rear porting gets the lowest frequencies closer to the room boundaries for more boundary re enforcement, and also, just simply the change in room location may help or hurt low end performance.

And I would suppose that the closer to the rear wall the speaker is placed the less important rear porting would become unless I am talking out of my own rear port.

Everybody has an opinion. The MBL has front firing ports.

I'm sure they all have reasons for their divergent beliefs.



EDIT: I mean the 101e MKII, I was not aware of the 111f model ported in the rear

MBL did switch from front to rear facing ports on the subs when they replaced the 111e's with the 111f's. In my room the rear facing seem to integrate better.

If you are only talking the 101e MK II you are correct the sub ports are in the front. (Someday )
