I only replaced the single fuse on the back of my MC501's. Unfortunately I have no MC2301's. Jérôme only replaced the single fuse on the back panel.
I did change the internal fuse of my MDA1000. For my C2300 I changed the fuse on the back panel but not the internal one.

Jérôme.......OK my friend, on your valued recommendation I am in. I have made a list of the fuses for my studio system, including the new amps, and a list of fuses for my living room system. I will buy the fuses for the studio system first to see what the praise is all about. If I am convinced this is worthwhile and an audible improvement, I will upgrade the fuses for the living room system.

Yes, I am a skeptic when it comes to fuses, but then I was a skeptic on power cords, too, and now own 17 Wireworld PC's, so I am willing to take the leap of faith. I hope this doesn't turn out to be like those black plastic boxes filled with treated quart stones.

Dan : Great News ! do like me. Change them step by step. Start by changing the fuses on the back of your power amps in the studio ( you know, the big power amps you have....) and hear the difference. I will personnaly go step by step to understand better the effects. I intend to spend some time with only the new fuses in the 2301's and maybe go back to the regular ones and then insert again the HiFi Tuning fuses in the power amps, before changing the one in the C1000P and so on.....

You know, the more I think about it, the more I understand that changing a fuse can have an effect on the sound. These small components are not just a piece of wire. Their disruption parts could affect the signal, and their body can vibrate. It really makes sense after all that improving this component could affect the sound. It is, after the power cord, the first piece of the amp which receives the electrical power. There is no reason why this "contact" could not be improved. Or, as you say, we would not change our PCs, plugs and so on...

Thanks a lot guys. Now I'm going to have to go out and buy some new fuses. What would really make me mad is if one blows when I power on the unit.

I need to start a thread about all the things that I have bought that most normal people would think are outrageously overpriced. A $50 fuse is up there. After getting into this hobby, that list is growing exponentially.
