Thanks David. Playing around with my 50mm and the D3S. That is fun

Another lens I love is my 85mm F 1.4. Probably the sharpest lens in my collection, 77mm size and a wonderful portrait lens

Speaking of Bokeh, I like it on one of my not so expensive Canon 85mm f/1.8 USM. I use it as my main portrait lens right now.

Hey Howie, after doing some research on that 85mm f1.4, I'm getting pretty interested.

85 mm is a great focal length for portraits on a FX body. I have been using my 50 mm 1.4 on my D300 which is a Dx body so it is essentially 1.6 x 50 =80 mm . One of the reasons I have not switched to full frame is losing the extra reach on telephoto. I know the trade off is a bit in high ISO noise and wide angle. I am waiting to see what new camera bodies Nikon comes out with next

David, try the 85 F1.4 on a D3S.

It's a wonderful sharp lens and would complement your D700 very well.

Here is a picture I took with my 18-200 and D300 then cropped the heck out of it to zoom in on the subject. Keep in mind I was actually pretty far away. I zoomed using the crop feature when I edit to blow the picture up.

I have the 70-200/2.8 VR (1st generation) since 8 yrs now, and i think its is one of the best and sharpest lenses Nikon has ever peoduced. The VRII version is even better!

So i hope u folks enjoy also taking pics with it, even if its a bit too heavy... But hey, we r crazy about quality, otherwise we would not be here!
