Dan's review was helpful in my upgrading from the excellent MC452's to the MC601's.

Is it me or what? Seems like the older my 601s get the better they sound.

Just jumped on the 601s train. Bought and installed just a few weeks ago. Waiting on some wireworld silver eclipse 7 speaker cables I bought here from kaarmstong. Hopefully I made the right choice.

This is my first piece of McIntosh equipment I've owned. My first exposure to McIntosh was admiration from afar when I was in my early 20s and first married. My wife and I went shopping for a system but couldn’t afford much. Two children and many years later, some $$ is available and I decided to make the plunge to complement my 803D3s. We are absolutely loving them.

Just wondering.. anyone considering adding or swapping out the power supply capacitor with larger value to match what the MC611 has to achieve the same performance? I see plenty of space for larger caps inside the MC601.

I haven't heard the MC611, but I'm very happy with my 601's. So no.
