I strongly second that. Class-A amps sound VERY VERY special. I had the baby Class-A Luxman the 550. The unit I had, unfortunately, produced a very noxious smell (apparently this is not a common thing, I just got unlucky) and had to be returned, but it sounded great.

If I could not have my Shindo amp and pre, I'd head for a Luxman class A in a heartbeat.

I agree with Alberto. I tried hard to figure a way to keep and the Luxman L590Aii I had on loan. If I ever re-setup a second system that unit would be high on the list for amplification.

Default Luxman L 505U integrated your tho

Only use for it would be in studios or gigs where you had to read alot of notes. Instead of using all that paper, you could flip through your iPad in no time. Other than that? Naah..

I have L-590ax the pure class A. Luxman makes some real good gear. I'm sure 550 is also awesome.

Why not the 509u? ;-)

Its bass is amazing: powerful, deep, with great definition and articulation... much better than the 507u.

With the MA7000, the 509u is one of the best existent class AB integrated amps

I own the B&W 803D...

Luxman demoed the 509u at the Tokyio International Audio Show with the 802D !

Sounstage reviewed it with the Wilson Audio Sophia, Stereoplay with the Thiel 3.7, both said the 509u handles the deep bass better than every known integrated.
