I think you are right and decided this morning not to cancel the order for the replacement MC275VI. So I guess I don’t have to give up my club membership after all.

With all due respect to Mcintosh solid state, their tube technology and expertise in tubes is world renowned and it's this foundation that started McIntosh. Unless you have some very inefficient speakers or like to rock out and listen very loud often I would never give up Mcintosh tubes for their solid state. I think you made the right decision.

I owned both MC275vi & MC452. The MC275vi is a keeper.

Suppose you are looking to improve the soundstage; try adding Stillpoints to the MC275vi. It made a significant difference to my system. Then I added them to the rest of the system and noticed another leap in performance.
