Default Trinnov Altitude 32

I was just trading emails with a local A/V dealer, who happens to carry a product I've been looking into. After I sent him a breakdown of my current gear, he immediately tried to sell me one of these Trinnov processors to replace my SP3.

Luckily I'm quite happy with my SP3, not care about Atmos, and my system sees 2-channel 80% of the time.. but I wanted to start a thread on this and see if anyone has had experience with this unit.

https://www.trinnov.com/products/hom...32/?lang=en_us

Looks like it's the top of the heap for HT processing, and not cheap. "Trinnov offers the Altitude32 in four versions: the eight-channel AL32-88 base model ($17,500), 16-channel AL32-816 ($21,000), 24-channel AL32-1624 ($25,500), and 32-channel AL32-1632 ($29,000)óall priced without the $2,500 3D Audio package that brings Atmos, DTS:X, and Auro-3D into the fold."

Pretty pricey for a PC based preamp for home theater, but, if you have to have the best........

Do you use the Trinnov together with the SP3? Or would the Trinnov be considered a replacement for the SP3?

I use the SP3 stand alone.

Also look at there new Aktitude-16 Out in the fall it is said.
Altitude16

It offers the same performance as the Altitude32, but in a package that is somewhat less modular and "limited" to 16 channels. It can render ALL of the currently available channels for both DTS:X and Auro-3D and up to 16 discretely-rendered channels of Dolby Atmos. It runs the same software as is found on the Altitude32, with the ultimate channel count being the only real limitation.

I love my SP3. I wish it had the ability to pass-through 4k HDR. But I can work around that. It's just a fantastic piece of gear.

32 channels is a heck of a lot of amps!

I like my SP3 too. It has aged nicely, but it is now getting "old" technology wise. I miss it not having the 4k pass-thru AND room correction. That's where the Trinnov can be a game changer...

Every time Iíve had room correction Iíve turned it off after a week or so.
