Best sirs,

If you are using a phone to take the pictures, the lens isn't in the center of the phone. That little bit will mess with things.

Serial number 190 of 200 -- but actually 40 of 50 two channel in two tone (black lower w/blue VU meters/silver upper). Akai made more 4 channel two tones as that was the days of 4 channel systems.

Works like day 1 & not a scratch, ding or dent on it. All 8 corners pristine.

Best sir,

Bob
GX -400D is one of the best reel to reel from Akai, I had two of them, blue and silver meters.

Alexa with McIntosh are sweet setup, Congratulations [emoji1]

You regret not having one this day? I probably would -- had 4 before the 400D. Two TEAC's and 2 Sony's. The Sony's, had the twins -- a TC580 and it's brother the TC-730 which had an amp & built in speakers.

I was told, the better Akai was the 1000 PRO.

Thanks -- been a long road traveled to get to this point. Relishing every minute it's turned on.

Best sir,

Bob

I can't believe how easy it is to push these Alexias with my MC2301's. When I had my VAC Signature MK II w/phono & Raidho C3.1's, I was at 2 & 3 o'clock to get any volume umph.

Since replacing the VAC & Raidhos', and with the McIntosh C1100 and Alexias', I'm at 39 or 41 on the volume readout and I can practically go outside & mow the yard and hear the music.

Ever since the McIntosh C1100 made it in the room, my thinking is leaning more and more toward having a defective VAC in some way or another. I just wasn't happy with it once the newness wore off. The phono side was the same way and even worse IIRC, like 3 or 4 o'clock. Or the synergy wasn't anywhere to be found.

I know one thing, I'll never own another VAC in my life.

I know Mr BP doesn't like tubes or more specifically, hasn't heard a particular manufacturer of amps that sound good with the Alexias and all I can say is -- MR BP -- give it another try and load 'em with a full compliment of Gold Lions -- hit the power switch, then reach over & hit play, walk back to your seat, sit down and be in audio heaven. You'll be educated in a flash partner.

A "RL" hot cut of Led Zeppelin II at 55 -- you better buckle your a.. in.

Best

Bob

VTL, Doshi and audio research are commonly used with Wilson at audio shows. They all sound great!

Oops, missed that...

On tubes, my personal preference with Wilsons are ARC and Doshi - in that order.
