Apparently, the Dynaudio announcement is already making big new OUTSIDE of the audiophile press. Links from the Sacramento Bee, Yahoo Finance, and no less than CBS Marketwatch have picked up the announcement.

When's the last time you ever heard of the Sacramento Bee mentioning Dynaudio?

Well, all the attention Dyn can get with this release is of course only a good thing. It should only lead to good things in the future.

As far as for the whole Audiophile thing... I have to say I don't even really consider myself a "true" audiophile, even while I do have some audiophile-grade gear.

Very nice to see that Rilands (Mike) posted pictures from Dynaudio at the show in his CES picture thread and included the new product. He also indicated that he spoke with Mick and really enjoyed his interaction with him.

Not surprised. Mick's really a great guy and Dynaudio's customer-first focus and support are second to none.

Total agreement on this quote.

I think anyone who is in the market for a speaker change should, if at all possible, audition a Dynaudio. All the Dynaudios I have listened to play at several levels above their price range. I am listening to the bookshelf F140's as I type and they characterize the Dynaudio sound which, is pure musical enjoyment. It would be a rare person who could ever find a fault with this product.

There was a thread awhile back on the definition of an audiophile, and I passed on posting a comment at that time, since I was just getting back into this whole thing. But, I must say, I find this whole endeavor, from auditioning equipment, meeting folks on this forum, reading reviews, and so on, to be a great way to spend some enjoyable time. I like all this talking equipment, talking about how to get to the place where you can really enjoy the music, the performance.

I'm sure that if I were to hear music in rooms with the mega systems, I would be blown away with whatever it is that appealed to me, the bass, the sound stage, the whatever. But what I have missed for far too long in my life, and what I am now enjoying with the simple addition of the Dyn 140's, is the joy, and I'm talking joy, of sitting down and discovering more and more amazing music and musical talent out there.

I want the equipment to be as good as I can get it for the amount I can afford (well, maybe more than the amount I should afford), but only for the sake of the musical experience. I'm finding that, although I'm frustrated from time-to-time, I like the quest to find the technology to get me to that most enjoyable listening experience. It is the latter that is the goal, not the former. However, because of the two, I believe that I am an audiophile.

Others may just love the fun of buying and selling equipment, but ask them why that equipment and not something else, like boats or cars, and I will bet you dimes-to-donuts that they will say because while doing so they can listen to incredible music (or even watch video with incredible sound). To me it all gets back to the music, and of course the fun is to put together a system that personifies your own musical taste.

Done. 'Nuff said. I'll shut up now and go put on some tunes.
