---> Thank you! Unfortunately this system is not mine. It belongs to my friend and I have listened it many times. You have here: Jadis JD1MKII CD drive, Jadis JS1 MKIII DAC, Jadis JP80MC Preamplifier, Jadis JA200 Monoblocks. The pictures was taken right after installing speakers so no cables visible yet. There is also analog setup in this system. I hope that I will onw some time such speakers OR new Serblin Ktema. The problem is limited space for such large speakers. As I stated before I have heard many system with Wilson Audio, Magico, Avalons, Genesis, Thiels (owned for 8 years) and top of the line MBL Radiastheler, but these Stradivari paired with Jadis are my long term favorite. When you do not like to bother audiophile aspects, but want just listen to music - there is setup to choice. I am sure that with other electronics you can get very good results with SF speakers, but Jadis is great match and create beautiful synergy. If you would like to try MacIntosh gear I would sugest starting with their tube monoblocks. Last edited by Milimetr; 07-24-2010 at 12:44 PM. |

Hi John, Nice to see you here. I would not like to grab the thread that howiebrou started about Stradivari Palladio, so only few words about new Jadis gear. (Maybe we should start another thread for Jadis only ). After many years of break Jadis announced three new products: - JA120 - 2 box monoblocks amplifier, - JP500 - 4 box reference preamplifier (downsized version of JP800 but without digital displays) - PP845 2 box monoblock amplifier based on triodes 845 in push-pull configuration (two tubes per monoblock). In case of JA120 this amplifier uses 6 power tubes per monoblock. These are new tubes from Tung-Sol (New Sensor) name KT-120. I do not know nothing about the sound as this amp is just developped. JA120 will be positioned between JA80 and JA200 and probably replace JA100 amplifier. I have confirmed that it will be possible to use new KT120 tubes in older Jadis amps like JA80 or JA200. If you have any question or would like a pictures of new amp, please drop me an email. John - you have extensive experience with MacIntosh gear and Jadis gear paired with Sonus Faber Elipsa speakers. Could you kindly answer TommyC about some recommendations. I remember that you mentioned that MacIntosh gear excels with Elipsa in terms of bas extensions and performance. How about other aspects of sound and Guarneri Memento speakers? Thank you! Last edited by Milimetr; 07-25-2010 at 01:53 AM. |

I have yet to own a pair of Mementos so Im afraid I cant offer any advice. I found the JA80's did not have enough steam for the Elipsa thats why I was curious about the JA120. Im think of getting the 120 or 200's, Im positive they would be heaven with Sonus Faber. With Mcintosh the 2301's are excellent on the Eipsa, if price is out of reach then I would consider 2 MC275's.
