Opinions For Speakers for mc452 amp
Hello there, I live in an area where it's not easy for me to get out and sample speakers at the various shops. When I head in to the city, I'd like to have a list of what I would like to check out in advance to save time. My budget is 10,000 Dollars
Medium sized room, 2 channel set up 1- This is NOT a dedicated room for audio, speakers that are known to be STICKLERS for placement are out. 2- Speakers have to be 9 feet apart, my listening position is 9 feet back. 3- Would like floor standing speakers that have good enough bass that i don’t have to add a sub to the the 2 channel set up. 4- I listen to 60 percent metal and punk, speakers must be able to rock, other 40 percent is made up of what i will just call audiophile music to save time. Diana Krall, Duke Elligton, Chesky records stuff etc.. 5- Obviously want speakers that will match up well with mc 452 amp That's it. I would love to hear what you guys think. Thank you. |

Aerial 7t, b&w 804. Can't go wrong.

The Aerial 7T is a very good choice.

You mentioned not wanting a sub, but rocking out is important. I will add that you won't get a great deal of quality midrange AND extended bass at this price unless you go into the used market and get something like a b&w 802 d2.

Legacy Focus S/E's or HD's. I prefer the S/E's when good power is provided. You would love them with a 452. They will perform just as you describe.
