Though the forum heading says MartinLogan and Magnepan, I'd like to think any of you panel enthusiasts will be welcome. I've had almost all of em: Quads, Acoustats, Apogees, Final and of course Magnepan and ML. No Sound Labs though, but I've always loved them.

Guess you could say I haven't met a panel I didn't like (yet)

Looking forward to hearing what you guys have to say...
Jeff
I have always enjoyed the sound of panels but for some reason or another neither Maggies not the ML's have made it into any iteration of my system. When you mention Sound Lab I will have to say that the Sound Lab/Kimber/Pass/EMM Lab room at the 2008 RMAF has to be one of the most impressive audio displays I have ever heard. Of course with 6 panels per side they needed a very large room to pull it off.

Understood, but having those big MBL's, they are pretty fantastic in their own right. I've heard pretty amazing sound from MBL speakers and they are definitely easier to setup than anyone's panels.

If you haven't heard the new CLX, it's pretty special. Of course I'm a little biased because I use them, but the MBL's are so good, I don't know what a panel speaker would do that your MBL's can't.

And you've already got great electronics!

The Grass in always greener as the say. I will have to look for a place that carries the CLX.

If you go listen to the CLX, make sure they have Descent i's or something else compatible for subs... By itself, it won't be enough.

One thing I will tell you, the CLX is unlike any other speaker in the sense that it will play loud! These things really rock. Even the Magnepan 20.1 doesn't come close in terms of dynamics.

If you don't have anyone in MI that can help you and feel like taking a road trip to Milwaukee, WI, talk to Shawn at DaVinci Media. He's got a great place and will take care of you! He's a Mac dealer too, so you can hear them with gear you are familiar with!

Gordon,
I think they are right at about $11k now. I'll be at my dealer next weekend and will get the exact cost for you, if not sooner if I get any email from him.

Since this is about panels, and related to Mac, I just want to go on the record and state the MG3.6R and MC402 is a pretty damn fine combination!

Definitely, the big Mac SS amps really do a nice job at making the Magnepans come alive...

Default Howdy all

Site came recommended by some folks I trust so I will do my best to contribute in an informative and respecful manner.

For background purposes, I am a long time Martin Logan fan. Currently have the Summits and reasonble electronics, cabling, etc. to make them sing, at least to my satisfaction.
