Oh yes, over my life time as a Wilson I did many various jobs at Wilson Audio:

1. Built speakers in Production

2. Was the Production Manager for a year

3. I worked in the paint shop polishing over my summer break in 1996 when I was 16

4. I worked in inventory for over a year

5. I helped in shipping a lot

6. I compiled all information when it comes to all products/serial numbers together in an excel sheet (took me 6 months to get everything in up to that point) and then they converted it into a data base so when someone calls up looking for information on their speakers, we have it all at our finger tips.

7. I answered phones when needed.

8. I filled customer service orders.

9 and my favorite until I started doing what I do now (something that most would not guess since I am a girl, and most girls don't like getting dirty) I worked in the fab shop for about 7 months. Was the most dirty, physically demanding job I have ever had - and I loved every second of it! Loved using all the saws, routers, sanders.. everything

10. Last, but certainly not least: I manage all of Wilson Audio's social sites! By far my favorite!! I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, and getting to know the people that enjoy the products that I witnessed my parents work so hard to create.

It has been a wonderful and exciting road with lots of ups and downs (with any company). It was fun to build the product, but more fulfilling to meet the people that enjoy what (in some cases) I helped create.

Not sure I have enough industry knowledge YET to have the title of "audiophile" bestowed upon me, but I do have a passion for Wilson Audio because it is so close to my heart and has always been so closely tied into mine and my families lives. One day.... one day

Happy listening!!

@ Debby
May be you bulit my X-1s? I think it is a version II which is upgarded to the main details of level III. But I think I haven't the original serial no. of the version II, because an upgrade causes a new serial number. Is this right that an upgarde causes a new serial number? With the boxes containing the parts for the upgrade I got several new type plates for the different moduls.

Best regards
Friedrich
Friedrich,

Yes, I built X-1's during series 2 and then to series 3. Yours I believe was a little know about upgrade (for some reason that upgrade was not widely known about - X-1 Series 2a I believe?) Feel free to give me your SN's and I will look them up to see if I built them

This is of course not to say that my building was any better than all the other craftsmen at Wilson Audio - it is for my own personal curiosity.

I have pondered the idea of when someone does send me Serial numbers, and it does infact check out that I built them, that I could buy them a Wilson Audio shirt and send it to them

It is a very specific time frame through late 1990's early 2000's - Mostly Puppy 6's and also some WATT 6's, but it would be in the time frame of Maxx 1's, X-1 2/3, Cub 2, Witt 1/2. I think it sounds fun! Almost like a lottery - first one we find wins

Hello Debby,

my actual serial numbers with the upgrade to Version 2A are 313 and 314. This were the numbers on the new type plates. May be they had another number before the upgrade. The speakers and the upgrade parts were delivered to the German dealer Audio Components. I bought them in November 1999 with the upgrade.

Best regards!
Friedrich

I will look into them for you! Might not be until next week since I will not be in the office until Wed.

I do know that in Nov. of 1999 was a month after the birth of my daughter, so I might have been on maternity leave still...

Warm regards from chilly Utah

I must say these speakers are truly great. The imaging and sound stage is fantastic 3 dimension and deep, the speakers just vanish. I now know why these speakers are so highly regarded. The fire is hot the tubes are warm and just lit up a cigar and put on fleet wood mac Rumors sacd.... fantastic. L1010815.jpg
