You're probably right Tommy although I would say that I don't buy gear for its collectibility

Howie...stunning! That's the only word I can think of. You've got a beautiful room and system. Pure musical bliss my friend. Congrats.

It is always so magnificent Howie, the gear itself but also its implementation, very aesthetic, very refined, of the best taste......

Look beautiful Howie. What made you chose Kondo over Shindo or Leben? One thing for sure I know it wasn't price.

I'm going this week to listen to some Shindo equipment as well as Leben from the same dealer but won't have the opportunity to listen to any Kondo.

John

I have heard Kondo many times but never Shindo or Leben. From what I gather from speaking to the Shindo Distributor the Shindo is a warmer, more lush rendition compared to Kondo, which whilst it is tube based exhibits a punch and ferocity rarely found in tube based systems. It is probably a function of the powerful 211 valves used in the Ongaku and Gakuon amps.

The "energy" which Kondo is so well known for really provides an exciting platform to listen to music.

I would love to listen to Shindo and Leben one day though...

Howie,
Congrats! I'm glad to see you're happy with this amazing setup, and it is a terrific looking rack (ho leng-ah) to look at as you enjoy that tube sound.

Thank you everyone for the kind comments.

I only wish I was not restricted by the maximum length of rca cables in determining the location of the rack between the speakers (which is never too good).

Howie,
Your system is to die for and I would really not care about the rack in the center : after all, that is the best place to look at it when you listen to music no ? What a shame if you'd put it in your back !
