Default Is a Text Secure?

Since this forum is digital stuph, thought I would ask here if a text (from our digital phones) is considered a safe method to send one's CC# (unlike e-mail, which is not).

no, as it’s not encrypted, although better than the other methods described.

Why send CC# when there is PayPal?

(For now) You could use Whatsapp to send end-to-end secured texts to someone else.
Or better yet, use Signal which is similar to Whatsapp but not tied in with Facebook.

Use signal, not what’s app. Better yet, encrypt a word doc and then separately text the recipient the key (or use Zelle or PayPal or a prepaid card to just send funds).

Just read up on it. Safer but not fail safe. I would still use PayPal/Apple Pay/Venmo for transactions. That way you are not giving out your CC # to a stranger and are counting on those services to protect your data. Good trade off.

How about a iPod Touch for security but not for messaging.
