Jim,

The cream has risen to the top. Thanks for nudging some of us off the fence. And congratulations to you and Serge for having the foresight to find some superb gear. I really love my D'Agostino as much as my Dartzeel.

Thanks Mark,

I think that's the logical conclusion. The more I see you guys with the great TT setups and "wax" on about how good vinyl sounds, I want in.

Congrats to all for your D'ag momentums...they are great amps. I may be the outlier here but I listened to both the momentums and the Ref 250's on Sasha's at my dealer and prefer the Ref 250s. I did actually consider buying both as the amps also serve home theater duty and solid state amplification works better there. In the end..I bought Ayre MX-Rs for normal setup with movies and TV and for 2 channel listening I hook up the Ref 250s. The momentums win in the solidity and speed of the lower registers but I felt the 250s did a better job bringing me into the musical event...and provided slightly more air and space around each performer. I could live happily with any of them. I am looking forward to my Alexia's which ship out this week...and the new Vivaldi stack which arrived last week is just downright amazing. While I am doubtful I will ever buy the D'ag preamp...the amps are still something I stop by my dealer to listen to from time to time...variety is good...

I've been doing lots of reading and I read that the Stereo is a pinch warmer sounding.

If the speakers can be bi-amped, wouldn't two stereo's make more sense than one pair of monos? Just saying...

Is that the plan now Mike? When you say something it's usually more than "just saying".

Makes sense to me. My stereo Dag momentum is wonderful. Hmmmm, I bet another would be even nicer.

I really doubt the two amps are voiced any different. The variation between two stereo or two pair of mono blocks could make just as much difference. If your speakers can handle bi-amping there is not harm in trying. Since these amps cannot be bridged then many of us with certain brands of speakers cannot give it a try.
