Adona or Salamander Racks
I have a very inexpensive VTI rack (light plastic shelves). I'm thinking about Salamander or Adona. Any thoughts?

I checked out the Adona rack pics; it's tough to tell how well they are made without really seeing one.
I do own a few Salamander racks, they are pricey for what you get; but they are solid. I have all my Bryston gear in one.

I'll vouch for Salamander - very flexible and yet looks like furniture vs. a stereo rack if that's the look you need in your listening room. I gotta laugh - I didn't find it pricey compared to other racks out there competing with Salamander - probably the only time I can make that comparison to the Master! Of course the operational word in that sentence is "compared".

They provide adjustable shelves, but no acoustic benefits that I can think of (e.g. damping, suspension, mass, etc.) If you like the looks and are OK with the price, then go for it - they do the job. Adona racks are made in Lizella, GA, near Macon, and I'm going to stop by their shop the next time I head north and see for myself how well they are made and if they are as good as they look in their pictures. I like that the salamander rack can be fitted with perforated steel sides, doors, and the like. There are some young kids among our family and friends; I might like the option of closing things off.

I use a salamander synergy triple 30. I like it....but...
I would prefer a built in with no doors in front. It would also need to have access in the back so I could mess with my cables. I like the looks of David's built-in. I also like the easy access Ivan has to all his cable. I've seen a picture of both posted here somewhere. Very nice.

Have had a Salamander rack. Never tried the Adona racks.
For me...Billy Bags works the best. Open, heavy duty and stable.
