I've been seriously thinking about it. It has to be better than my Sony XA5400ES player.

Joe.......You know I am not making fun of anyone's components. It's the performance gap between the the two referenced components that I was chuckling about. The MCD1100 is a lot more than just a disc spinner. A LOT MORE.

Dan,

I know, I was just kidding. I do value your opinion and my Sony was like 1/10 the price of the MCD1100. I plan on giving it a serious look.

Joe, don't worry, I know you will figure it out. Take a deep breath, think what matters most to you in sound, and GO FOR IT!!
PS: I am trying to do the same thing.

Is there a way that you can get a dealer to let you demo one?

The experience I'm having with the O88, is that the SPDIF performance (RCA) is much better than the USB... USB is ok, but SPDIF is really good. Which doesn't matter to me, as I'd never use USB as a source.

Very good point Jeff. I was shocked (but I am a neewbie) at how good my MacBook Pro sounded hooked up thru my 089 SPDIF. And when I read all the threads on Computer forums on how crappy SPDIF was, I new something stinks in Denmark. Why all the hoopala over USB?
