Hi Cyril,

Seems like you have good taste also. I do plan on adding to the "family", they are exceptional and I think I've found "it".

I was in Berlin in March and I got a chance to listen to a full Burmester set-up almost identical to yours: 089 CD, 077 pre, 911 mk 3s bridged in a mono config, and B-80 speakers. Listened to Dire Straits, Pink Floyd, some classical guitar, etc...and it was just superb. My dream SS set-up would be an all Burmester set-up as above with Rockport speakers (or Sonus Faber speakers). Enjoy your new toys. They are indeed exceptional.
Maybe i'd keep an ARC pre- in the chain for some tube goodness . Speaking of which, Jeff (Tonepub) have you ever tried that combination (ARC pre with the 911 Mk 3) and compared it to an all Burmester chain (assuming there is no impedance mismatch bet the ARC pre and Burmester amp as I have not checked)? That would be an interesting comparison to see how the sonic signature changes...

If anyone is thinking about a 089, if you only need 2 digital inputs, the preamp section is superb! It is above any $15K pre stand-alone. In fact, it sounds like a tube pre-amp is in the chain, IMHO.
